PARTNER MOVES - Squire Patton Boggs welcomes new employment partner Kim Hodge

Experienced employment lawyer Kim Hodge is the latest lateral partner appointed by the global law firm’s Australian offices. He will join the Perth office on 4 April 2022.

Kim has more than 20 years’ experience in industrial relations, human resources, unfair and unlawful terminations, and workplace investigations. He assists clients across a diverse range of sectors including mining and resources, engineering, utilities, retail, health care, education, not-for profit, and local government.

Combining skills and knowledge in employment law with previous practical experience as a human resources manager, industrial relations advisor, labour market economist and industrial inspector, Kim provides clients with advice that is timely, direct, professional and pragmatic. With a specialised interest in complex performance management issues and workplace investigations, Kim also regularly advises on general protection claims, unfair dismissals, enterprise bargaining, and equal opportunity matters. Kim has developed a strong practice in discrimination, harassment, and bullying issues with a range of workplaces experiencing an upward swing of these types of claims during the pandemic.

Speaking on his engagement Kim said:

“The Australian legislative regime for employment and labour matters is unique to Australia. However, Australian employers now operate in an increasingly connected global marketplace. To name a few developing areas global employers need to consider the geographical differences around employee data protection laws, COVID-19 vaccination requirements and pandemic working arrangements. These evolving areas of employment law require different considerations across multiple jurisdictions.

I am looking forward passionately to being part of Squire Patton Boggs’s global team with the capability to deliver a “one stop shop” employment service for clients”.
