PARTNER MOVES - Travers Smith recruits Restructuring and Insolvency Partner

Travers Smith LLP announced today the recruitment of Edward Smith to its partnership. Edward joins the firm as a partner in its Restructuring & Insolvency practice.

Edward’s practice encompasses all aspects of commercial restructuring, refinancings and formal insolvency appointments, often with a cross-border or international element.  He has long-standing experience representing creditor interests in a wide range of matters, from work-outs to the enforcement of security. He also advises debtors, corporate boards and investors and acts for both officeholders and purchasers in respect of distressed business and asset sales.

Prior to joining Travers Smith Edward was a partner at K&L Gates. In the course of his career he has also worked at Freshfields and Jones Day.

Travers Smith’s market leading Restructuring & Insolvency practice focuses on both transactional and advisory matters and acts for a broad mix of investment banks, asset managers, pensions schemes, funds and corporates. The Restructuring & Insolvency team works closely with a broad multi-disciplinary group at the firm comprising finance, corporate, financial services, funds, tax and dispute resolution specialists. Edwards joins existing Restructuring & Insolvency partners Jeremy Walsh and Peter Hughes.
