National law firm Weightmans has continued its recruitment drive with the hire of insurance specialist Simon Durkin.
 
Listed as a 'brilliant' key individual in the Legal 500, Simon worked at Fishburns, now DWF, for five years, where he was a Partner in the Global Casualty and Property team prior to joining Weightmans.
 
For over 16 years, Simon has specialised in policy coverage and related disputes, acting exclusively for insurers. He has considerable experience in a wide range of property and casualty work, which includes property damage losses, Contractors’ All Risks insurance, product liability and recall claims spanning the technology, medical and food/drink sectors, public liability claims involving SMEs, large multinationals, local authorities and educational establishments and a wide range of claims under D&O policies.

Simon also has extensive non-contentious insurance experience – recently, he was retained by a major London Market insurer to create a suite of modular insurance products covering first party property and business interruption, healthcare, cyber, professional liability, contractors all risks and management liability.
