International law firm Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP announced that Gareth Clark has joined the Firm as a partner in the global Private Equity practice, based in Weil’s New York office.
“Gareth is a fantastic addition to our premier global Private Equity practice,” said Weil Executive Partner Barry Wolf. “He will also be a great fit with our strategic goals and culture, and we are very pleased to welcome him to the Firm.”
“Gareth has a proven track record for supporting a broad range of well-known private equity clients on leveraged buyouts and growth equity transactions,” said Michael Aiello, Chairman of Weil’s global Corporate Department. “His experience is highly complementary to our global Private Equity platform and will enhance our strong bench of experienced transactional lawyers.”

In his practice, Gareth advises private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies on a broad range of U.S. and international corporate transactions and commercial matters across numerous industries, including industrials and chemicals, life sciences and consumer. He is experienced in structuring a variety of global M&A transactions, including leveraged buyouts, carve-out transactions, going-private transactions, divestitures, growth capital investments, joint ventures, corporate restructurings, and other investments throughout a company's capital structure.
“Weil’s Private Equity team is a market leader in advising private equity sponsors on their most sophisticated transactions,” said Gareth. “I am excited to join such a formidable team, and look forward to working together to deliver exceptional results for the Firm’s clients.”
