International law firm Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP announced today that Matthew Stewart has joined the Firm as a partner. He is part of Weil’s global Private Equity practice and is based in the Firm’s Silicon Valley office.

Mr. Stewart joins Weil from King & Spalding LLP, where he was a partner in the Firm’s Mergers & Acquisitions and Private Equity practices in Silicon Valley. He has substantial experience advising private equity funds, growth equity investors, and strategic investors on mergers and acquisitions, private equity and structured capital investments, and financing transactions. Most recently, he was named to the Daily Journal Top 40 Under 40 for 2017 and was named among M&A Advisor’s Emerging Leaders. Mr. Stewart was also recognized by Law360 as a Rising Star for Private Equity in 2015.
