City law firm RPC has acted for Delancey-backed group on the expansion of its portfolio after the purchase of Putney Park School. Partners Anthony Shatz and David Johnston, along with Associates Neil Brown and Richard Roth, acted for Alpha Plus on the deal. The deal will See Alpha Plus acquire the property and assets of the South West London school from its current private owners, following which another of its existing schools, the Falcons School for Girls in Ealing, will be relocated to the site. Alpha Plus owns 19 schools, colleges and nurseries, making it one of the largest private education groups in the country.
Shatz said: "The deal will allow Alpha Plus to continue the expansion of its portfolio which is principally focussed in the South East. We took on all components of the deal from the initial bid to detailing the transfer of property to Alpha Plus to the purchase of the school's assets.

The deal is part of a string of recent transactions advised on by RPC's high-profile education practice, including acting for Principal of Christ the King Sixth Form College on its acquisition of a new site for its school and employment advice, and its representation on the test litigation case in front of the Supreme Court regarding the nine-year rule for teachers employed at European Schools.
