RPC takes lead UK role for Sierra Nevada Corporation in strategic deal

19 Mar 2015

Acquisition of 328 Support Services sees US-based aerospace company expand significantly into the UK and Germany

City law firm, RPC, has advised new client Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC), the US-based aerospace company, on the English law components of its acquisition of 328 Support Services (328) and its affiliated entities.

The RPC team, led by Partner Anthony Shatz and including Associate Paul Jenkins, advised on the corporate aspects of this cross-border transaction.

Based in the UK and Germany, 328 is the owner of the Intellectual Property rights for design, manufacturing, maintenance and certification of the 200 existing Dornier 328 prop and jet aircraft. The move provides SNC with a strong entrance into the European market.

"This was a great cross-border deal to be involved in for a new client,” said Anthony. “We worked very closely with SNC to help navigate the company through some challenging issues, eventually getting the transaction over the line.”

As well as corporate advice, RPC also acted on all tax, employment, regulatory and competition matters.

US advice was given by Holland & Hart, while SNC turned to Germany's SKW Schwarz for local advice. Both firms are part of the TerraLex network.
