Trowers & Hamlins is pleased to announce that long-standing client Sentinel Housing Association has exchanged contracts on its Chapel Hill housing development project in Hampshire.  Trowers & Hamlins has been advising Sentinel on the project since the initial site acquisition in 2012.  

The £110 million Chapel Hill project will see over 570 private and affordable housing units delivered in Basingstoke through a partnership between Sentinel, BDW Trading and Barratt Developments PLC.  This major development will include more than 245 new build houses, 275 new build apartments, and the conversion of a locally listed structure into 56 apartments.

Chapel Hill is one of three significant development projects currently underway by not-for-profit Sentinel.  Dextra Court and Freemantle Close/Taverner Close, also both in Basingstoke, will see additional new housing stock created in the area, which will bring Sentinel's locally managed portfolio to more than 9,000 properties.  Trowers & Hamlins is providing legal and affordable housing expertise on the trio of projects.

In addition to the Basingstoke projects, Trowers & Hamlins is also advising Sentinel Housing on its new joint venture with Bloor Homes UK, Bovis Homes, and Linden Homes to acquire a site in Shinfield from the University of Reading.  The site, just south of Reading and valued at around £100 million, will see approximately 1,000 new housing units delivered.  Sentinel Housing will take at least 168 of the affordable dwellings within the development, valued at over £30 million.
