3 April 2017 / PARIS – Dechert LLP advised Philippe Boulay and Upela.com, a start-up specializing in French and international e-shipping, on its acquisition by Flash Group, a European leader in express and sensitive shipping supported by Eurazeo PME.

For Flash Group, this transaction speeds up its digital transformation and broadens its services offering in the demand responsive transport sector (ad hoc shipment) and in IT solutions for online retailers. This move combines Eurazeo PME's financial resources, Flash Group's strong presence throughout Europe in 18 countries, and Upela.com's technological knowledge. This transaction with Upela will reach Flash Group's entire local network in 18 European countries and this transaction succeeds to provide itself with the necessary financial means for its ambitious expansion plan.

The Paris-based Dechert team advising Upela.com and its founder was led by national partner Anne-Charlotte Rivière, with assistance by associates Xavier Leroux and Thomas Bermudes for M&A and management aspects. Partner Bruno Leroy and associate Antoine Le Touzé provided tax counsel on the transaction.

Flash Group was advised by Lamartine firm (Maxime Dequesne and Pierre Lagresle) for M&A aspects and by Simon Associés firm for new technologies law, personal data and consumer law aspects.
