Shoosmiths helps Regus extend mobile working platform

25 Jun 2013

Shoosmiths has helped the world's largest provider of flexible workspaces expand its offering to workers on the move.

Real estate specialists at the national law firm have helped Regus launch four innovative Regus Express business centres to meet growing demand for flexible, drop-in places to work.

They are located in motorway service areas off the M40 in Beaconsfield; the M25 in Cobham, the M4 in Membury and the A14 in Cambridgeshire.

Shoosmiths partner Nathan Rees worked on a lease between Regus and motorway services and hotel chain Welcome Break, at Membury; and senior associate Matt Walker put in place agreements with Extra Motorway Service Area Group, at Beaconsfield, Cobham and Cambridgeshire.

The Regus Express locations each feature hi-tech business lounges with private workstations called ThinkPods, co-working space with Wi-Fi and iMacs, plus bookable meeting rooms and complimentary refreshments.

The new business centres are part of Regus Third Place, which is rolling out a series of flexible working facilities at key transport hubs to bridge the gap between the traditional office and the home office. In separate partnerships on the continent, Regus has already opened similar centres in France, Germany and The Netherlands.

Rees of Shoosmiths said: "Regus Express is already proving popular with business people who spend a lot of their time on the road, helping them be more productive on the move. Regus is a long-standing Shoosmiths client and we are delighted to have been able to assist in the creation of its latest customer innovation."

Shoosmiths' Real Estate Group is one of the largest in the UK. Spread across seven offices and comprising 35 partners and 230 staff in total, it is made up real estate, construction, planning, property litigation, and environmental specialists.
Clients include commercial and residential developers, investors, retail and leisure operators, social housing bodies, major corporate occupiers, banks and other funders and a range of public sector bodies.
