Sidley acted as the legal advisor to the joint sponsors and underwriters in the global offering of Guangzhou Rural Commercial Bank Co., Ltd. on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong. Our clients were China International Capital Corporation, Hong Kong Securities Limited, China Merchants Securities (HK) Co., Limited, CCB International Capital Limited and ABCI Capital Limited as the joint sponsors, as well as the Hong Kong and International Underwriters. The total offering amount was approximately US$1 billion. This IPO marks one of the largest Hong Kong IPOs in 2017.
