Simmons & Simmons advising LIBOR Committee

07 May 2013

Simmons & Simmons is the external legal advisor to The Hogg Tendering Advisory Committee for LIBOR.

This independent Committee is chaired by the Baroness Hogg and consists of senior market and banking figures, acting in a personal capacity. Its remit is to design and implement an open and competitive process to determine a new administrator to take over responsibility for the administration of the London Interbank Offered Rate (LIBOR). This is a key step in implementing one of the principal recommendations of the Wheatley Review of LIBOR, which the UK Government accepted in full last year. Simmons & Simmons is working alongside the Secretariat from HM Treasury and the Financial Conduct Authority to support the Committee.

The Simmons & Simmons team advising the Committee is led by Corporate partner, Charles Mayo, assisted by Rachel Lewis.
