Speechly Bircham has acted as the legal adviser to David Phillips, the specialist property services company, on its add-on acquisition of Peel Mount Contract Furnishings Limited.
Peel Mount, based in Manchester, is a leading provider of furniture and appliances to Universities and Housing Associations across the UK. The acquisition will position the combined entity to become the leading supplier of furniture and appliances to Public Sector and Social Housing organisations nationwide.
Nicholas Gill, CEO of David Phillips said "It was a pleasure to work with Malcolm, Adam and the Speechlys team on this transaction, which was smooth and on-time. With firm plans to continue growing both organically and through acquisition, we are sure that we will be working closely with the Speechlys team for some time yet to come".
Commenting on the transaction, Malcolm MacDougall, partner at Speechly Bircham, said: "We are delighted to have worked with David Phillips on the transaction, having acted for FF&P Private Equity on the original buy-out in September 2012. We look forward to growing the relationship with David Phillips as the company continues to expand".
The Speechlys team was led by private equity senior assistant Adam Crossley, alongside private equity assistant Lucy Scott, tax assistant Robert Birchall and banking assistant Stephen Hunter.
