Squire Patton Boggs has acted for Public Consulting Group (PCG) and its PCG Polska z.o.o. wholly owned subsidiary on two strategic acquisitions in Poland. The team advising PCG was led by Pawel Magierowski from the firm’s Global Corporate Practice in Warsaw, supported by Ewelina Witek and Katarzyna Witkowska – Pertkiewicz.
PCG, which is headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts, provides industry-leading management consulting and technology to help public sector education, health, human services, and other government clients achieve performance goals and better serve populations in need. The company employs nearly 2,000 professionals in 61 offices around the US, in Canada, and in Europe.
The first transaction completed in July involved the acquisition by PCG of 100% of shares in Partners in Progress Sp. z.o.o., for an undisclosed amount. Partners in Progress is a Rzeszów, Poland-based software services provider to higher education institutions, with over 60 universities and colleges in the country using its solutions and services. The acquisition was preceded by a comprehensive restructuring of the company and the shares were purchased from the company’s founders.
In a second transaction completed in August, PCG acquired 100% of shares in Librus Sp. z.o.o., a leading provider of IT solutions for the education sector in Poland, from private equity fund Oresa Ventures for an undisclosed amount. Founded in 2002, Librus offers digital products and services enabling schools to more efficiently manage communication to students and parents, and provides a wide range of training for educational professionals, and innovative solutions to support personalized learning. One of the fastest growing businesses operating in the sector, Librus now serves 3,500 schools, and more than 120,000 teachers and 1.2 million students in Poland.
Squire Patton Boggs’ Pawel Magierowski commented: “We’re delighted to support PCG on their first two strategic acquisitions in Poland. With the investments they have made this year, PCG Polska has become a leading provider of education IT solutions in Poland and is now well positioned to expand their services in a specialist sector where there is fast-growing demand.”
