Slaughter and May advised STAR Capital Partners Limited (STAR Capital Partners), a leading European fund manager, on the acquisition by STAR Asset Finance Limited (a Guernsey incorporated company) of the entire issued share capital of Kennet Equipment Leasing Limited, an asset finance broker and financing provider to small and medium-sized enterprises.

Slaughter and May also advised STAR Capital Partners in respect of the establishment of STAR Finance Partners LP, a Guernsey registered limited partnership, for the purpose of consolidating the asset finance broker market. STAR Capital Partners has indicated that initial funding allocated for its investments is in excess of £100 million. Slaughter and May is advising STAR Capital Partners on the raising of further debt financing.

Slaughter and May worked as a team with Carey Olson advising on the Guernsey limited partnership and corporate aspects of the transaction.
