Thommessen has assisted the leading investor behind Nordic Wind Power DA in relation to the acquisition of 40 % of the shares in Fosen Vind DA in co-operation with the German law firm P+P Pöllath + Partners.
Thommessen's team consisted of Bendik Christoffersen, Jens Naas-Bibow, Ervin Auren and Petter Sveen Nilsen.
The project is one of many wind power projects Thommessen has advised in recently, e.g. the refinancing of and raising of capital to Midfjellet Vindkraft AS, the financing of Hamnefjell wind farm, legal advising in relation to Austri Vind DA, the sale of Bjerkreim Vind AS and project development/sale of Tonstad wind farm and Tellenes wind farm.
The announcement that the company Fosen Vind DA has made a positive investment decision to build a wind power plant with a combined capazity of 1000 MW in Fosen, in Mid-Norway was made 23rd February 2016. Fosen Vind DA is a joint venture company owned by Statkraft SF (52,1 %), TronderEnergi AS (7,9 %) and Nordic Wind Power DA (40 %). The wind power plant will consist of six wind farms and have a total of 278 tubines. Construction start is in 2016 and will be finished by the end of 2020. Nordic Wind Power DA was sold from Agder Energi AS, TronderEnergi AS and NTE to a European investor consortium created by Credit Suisse Energy Infrastructure Partners.
