A Travers Smith team led by private equity partner Philip Sanderson and senior corporate associate Adam Orr has advised Deutsche Telekom on its acquisition of GTS Central Europe for a total consideration of €546m.
Deutsche Telekom is acquiring GTS from a consortium of international private equity firms, including Columbia Capital, HarbourVest Partners, Innova Capital and M/C Partners. The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals.
GTS is a Central European telecoms infrastructure business that provides data, internet, voice and cloud services to approximately 38,000 businesses, carriers and government institutions. It has fibre-optic and data-centre networks across Central and Eastern Europe, serving the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia.
The transaction strengthens Deutsche Telekom's position in the business-to-business segment and enhances its ability to offer pan-European telecommunication services.
Deutsche Telekom was also advised by Noerr and the GTS shareholders were advised by Edwards Wildman.
