A Travers Smith team led by, Corporate Partner, Edmund Reed and, Tax Partner, Russell Warren, and working in conjunction with a team from German law firm Beiten Burkhardt, has advised Global Navigation Solutions ("GNS"), a business backed by longstanding client Phoenix Equity Partners, on its acquisition of HanseNautic GmbH ("HanseNautic"), for an undisclosed amount.

HanseNautic is Germany's leading distributor of marine navigational charts and other related products and services. The acquisition follows GNS's acquisition of Thomas Gunn Navigation Services Limited in November 2012, a transaction on which Travers Smith also advised.

The Travers Smith team also included, Corporate Associate, Ian Keefe and, Tax Associate, Camilla Southall. The Beiten Burkhardt team was led by, Corporate Partner, Steffen Schniepp and also included Corporate Associate, Christian Hensel.
