Trowers & Hamlins has advised Bahrain-based business group Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo (Holdings) Co WLL ("Kanoo") on its acquisition of travel company Thomas Cook Group plc's Egyptian and Lebanese operations.
Thomas Cook Egypt and Thomas Cook Lebanon offer outbound corporate and leisure travel to Egyptian and Lebanese customers, as well as foreign exchange services in Egypt and Lebanon. Kanoo has acquired these businesses for a cash consideration of £6.5 million.
