Trowers & Hamlins advises Cambian on acquisition of Ansel

11 Sep 2014

Trowers & Hamlins is delighted to have advised specialist behavioural health service provider Cambian on its acquisition of Ansel, a 24-bed clinic in Nottingham for men suffering from personality disorders.

Cambian is one of the largest providers of specialist behavioural health services and provides a range of services for adults and children, including services for patients with acquired brain injuries, autism and learning disabilities.

The targeted acquisition expands the range of Adult Mental Health services that Cambian can offer to its customers, will enable Cambian to strengthen its relationship with NHS England, and will provide expertise for Cambian to further expand this service line in the future.

Saleem Asaria, Cambian's CEO, commented:  “We are delighted with this acquisition, which enables us to expand our offer to customers in a new therapeutic area within our Adult Services division.  The acquisition of Ansel is in line with our strategy to undertake transactions which complement our existing business and enable us to reach new regions or deliver new services.”

Trowers & Hamlins has acted for Cambian for over ten years.  The firm played an integral part in laying the groundwork for Cambian's public listing on the London Stock Exchange in April 2014, and has advised Cambian on numerous acquisitions over the years.

Tim Nye, private equity and care specialist at Trowers & Hamlins who advised Cambian on the Ansel acquisition, said:  "Cambian continues to go from strength to strength and we are pleased to have advised them on this recent acquisition.  The services they provide mean they are uniquely placed in the market to meet increasing demand for specialist care services."

Corporate senior associate Alison Chivers also advised on the transaction.
