Trowers & Hamlins is delighted to be acting for long-standing client Richard Caring on the acquisition of 4-6 Berkeley Square, W1, for a new project with a restaurant element.

Caring's Caprice Holdings, which owns Le Caprice, The Ivy and Scott’s restaurants, plans to establish the new, yet-to-be-named restaurant within the 8,000 sq ft ground floor and basement space in Mayfair.

Trowers & Hamlins previously acted for Caring on the site acquisition and establishment of Balthazar, which opened to rave reviews in London's Covent Garden last year.  The firm's other restaurant transactions for Caprice Holdings since 2010 include the Mount Street Deli, 34 in Grosvenor Square, the extension of the fish and seafood restaurant J Sheekey, and the development, establishment and subsequent transfer to the Soho House Group of Little House private members club at 12 Curzon Street.

The firm continues to advise Caprice Holdings and its sister company, The Birley Group, on the on-going management of its restaurant and club assets, including Annabel's, The Ivy Club, The George, Harry's Bar, and Bam Bou.

Commercial Property partner Julien Allen is leading on the deal, assisted by Commercial Property associate Dwynwen Lewis.  Allen heads up Trowers & Hamlins' Hotel & Leisure group, which acts for owners, operators, developers, funders, contractors, consultants and specialist suppliers for a wide range of assets and businesses including hotels, health and fitness centres, golf courses, cinemas, spa facilities, bars and restaurants.
