Trowers & Hamlins has advised LINQ on a new strategic finance model for mixed tenure housing

09 May 2016

The first two schemes have now been launched, with debt funding from M&G Investments. LINQ acquired 50 flats at Zenith House, Colindale and a further 27 flats in the Mildmay regeneration scheme, Shoreditch from Genesis Housing Association.

Ian Graham, Partner and National Head of Housing and Regeneration at Trowers & Hamlins, commenting on the schemes, said: “We need innovative solutions to meet the challenges posed by the housing crisis. This new finance model will be of interest to housing associations and equity sponsors who face a broad range of issues in terms of housing delivery. It is essential that we attract institutional investors into the housing sector so they may contribute to the delivery of good quality, affordable rental accommodation.”

LINQ and Genesis both provided equity investment into the model. In addition, Genesis will provide full property management services for LINQ.

Ian Graham led the team at Trowers & Hamlins acting for LINQ.
