Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW“) has again advised municipal utility Stadtwerke Lübeck GmbH on all legal and tax aspects involved in the acquisition of a share of an 18 MWp ground-mounted solar park, located in Turnow-Preilack in Brandenburg, Germany. The solar park will be operated jointly with another municipal utility partner.

The ground-mounted photovoltaic system, installed on the “Lieberose” former military training area in Brandenburg, consists of First Solar FS 277/FS 280 thin-film modules. The solar park comprises two entities with an installed capacity of 9 MWp each and has been operational since 2011. This project was financed by NORD/LB.

WFW advised Stadtwerke Lübeck GmbH on the legal and tax due diligence as well as on the purchase contract and the structuring of the partnership agreements. The acquisition was effected by the purchase of a 40.1 percent share in the two operating companies of two solar parks. The purchased shares correspond to 7.2 MWp, which will allow Stadtwerke Lübeck to supply approximately 2,500 households with sustainable energy.
