Lawyers at Weightmans LLP have advised Anglesey-based building materials company Huws Gray on the addition of two more branches to its growing portfolio of trading locations, acquiring its first branch in Derbyshire and strengthening its presence in Denbighshire, north Wales.

Following an exciting 2012 which saw 5 acquisitions and the opening of two brownfield sites, Huws Gray now has 42 trading locations, further establishing itself as the largest independent builders merchant in Wales and North-West England.

In Derbyshire, Huws Gray has acquired J. F. Beale Ltd – a family business with over thirty years’ experience in providing building and landscaping supplies on Alfreton Road in Derby. In a move that further boosts the business’ presence in north Wales, Huws Gray has also acquired a property on Lon Parcwr Industrial Estate in Ruthin. Following a substantial investment in renovating the site, it will open officially on September 1st and will provide six new full-time jobs in the town in the first instance.

A team of solicitors from Weightmans acted for the long-time client, led by Partner Ian Vicary and assisted by real estate specialist Amanda Hurst and corporate trainee solicitor, Gary Byrne.
