Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) has advised IPH Group (“IPH”), a leading European distributor of industrial supplies on the acquisition of Julsa S.A. (“Julsa”), a major Spanish industrial products supplier.
With an annual turnover of more than €1bn, IPH owns well-known brands such as Zitec and Kistenpfennig in Germany, Orexad in France, Minetti in Italy and Biesheuvel Techniek in the Netherlands. This deal positions IPH as a market leader in Spain, and comes hot on the heels of their recent acquisition of Buenaventura Giner, another leading firm in the sector, in September 2016.
Julsa is the market leader in Spain for industrial maintenance services, with a focus on power transmission, hydraulic, and pneumatic sealing products.
The WFW Madrid corporate team was led by Partner Gonzalo Aranzabal, assisted by Senior Associate, Javier Ester. Paris corporate Partner Arnaud Felix advised on the French law aspects of the acquisition.
Gonzalo commented: “I’m delighted to have advised IPH on another key acquisition that demonstrates their commitment to expansion in Spain. That they chose WFW to advise them once again is also an acknowledgement of the growing reputation of our Madrid corporate practice”.
