29 Sep 2016

International law firm Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) has advised leading European industrial supplies distributor IPH Group (“IPH”) on the acquisition of Buenaventura Giner S.A (“Buenaventura Giner”), Spain’s leading supplier in the sector.

With a turnover of €1bn+, IHP supplies clients throughout Europe with leading brands such as Zitec and Kistenpfennig in Germany, Orexad in France, Minetti in Italy and Biesheuvel Techniek in the Netherlands.

Founded in 1939, Buenaventura Giner is Spain’s leading supplier of bearings, power transmitters, pneumatics and diverse tools. With twelve plants across Spain and sales in excess of €30m, it is a key national benchmark in the industrial supplies sector.

The WFW Madrid corporate team advising IPH was led by partner Gonzalo Aranzabal, together with senior associate Javier Ester.

Gonzalo commented: “It has been a pleasure working with IPH on this transaction. Its acquisition of Buenaventura Giner will boost the latter’s position in the Spanish markets, ensuring its continued growth and help build closer ties with its main suppliers”.
