WFW advises Trackunit A/S on acquisition of Dreyer + Timm GmbH

22 Sep 2016

International law firm Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) has advised Denmark’s Trackunit A/S (“Trackunit”) on the German legal aspects of its acquisition of all shares in Dreyer + Timm GmbH, a pan-European telematics service provider for fleet management applications in vehicles, trailers and agricultural and construction machinery headquartered in Rotenburg, Germany.

Based in Pandrup, Denmark, Trackunit is a leading supplier of fleet management solutions to customers around the globe. The acquisition of Dreyer+Timm GmbH and its advanced telematics solutions supplements Trackunit’s business and strengthens its leading position within the fast evolving European telematics market for vehicles.

The WFW Hamburg team advising Trackunit was led by corporate partner and head of the firm’s German practice Dr Marcus M. Bechtel, working closely with senior associate Tanja Mado. They were supported by partners Dr Andreas Wiegreffe (Employment), Verena Scheibe (Tax), Dr Christine Bader (Regulatory) and Dr Sebastian Baum (Corporate). Senior Associates Torge Rademacher (Corporate), Jörg Walzer (Tax) and associates Florian Leonhard, Matthias J. Annweiler and Moritz Müller (all corporate), Dr Nicolaj Faigle (Tax), Nora Fleischhauer and Dr Johannes Alexander Höft (both Employment) also advised.

Trackunit was also advised by Danish law firm Bruun & Hjejle, who also assisted its current shareholders on their acquisition of the company in 2015.

Marcus commented: “We are delighted that Trackunit chose to turn to WFW for advice on this challenging transaction, a clear demonstration of our ability to leverage our in-depth expertise across our M&A, private equity and tax practices. Our cooperation with Bruun & Hjejle, established in former projects with Danish client involvement, was also beneficial in the present acquisition transaction”.
