Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW“) advised Werdenfelser Wasserkraft GmbH (“WW”) on a €20m+ financing provided by Bayern LB, for the construction of a 10 MW  hydropower plant in the Valle d’Aosta region (Italy).

Munich-based WW specialises in the acquisition, construction operation and support of hydropower plants for the production of renewable energy in Germany and beyond.

The cross-border WFW team advising WW was led by Italy Practice Head Eugenio Tranchino and Counsel Luca Sfrecola, assisted by Trainee Giovanni Benedetto. In Hamburg, Banking & Finance Partner Thomas Hollenhorst advised on the German law aspects of the transaction, assisted by Senior Associate Dr Paul-Vincent Hahn.

Specifically, the WFW team advised WW on the structuring, negotiation and drafting of all relevant contractual and financial documentation on the transaction.
