Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised CD Holding Internationale SAS, owned by French cooperative Up Group which specializes in vouchers for companies and individuals, on the acquisition of European Payment Solutions NV (EPS), which provides technology to businesses enabling the acceptance of card payments across Europe.
The transaction closed in Brussels on April 27, 2016.
Up Group acquired Monizze, a Belgian company which focuses on the digitalization of meal vouchers, eco-cheques and gift cards, during 2015. As a result of Up Group's acquisition of EPS, which was previously owned by PayFair Holding BV, Monizze will be able to process and develop the digital and payment technology required to operate its electronic vouchers.
"EPS and Monizze were already business partners, but the integration of EPS in Up Group will lead to a fully integrated business system, which represents significant progress for the implementation and improvement of this electronic payment system," said Brussels-based Partner Thierry Bosly, who led the Firm's deal team.
The White & Case team in Brussels which advised on the transaction was led by partner Thierry Bosly with support from associates Marie Georgy, Laurent Lantonnois and Aurélie Cautaerts.
