WLG's Energy team advises Primrose Solar on reaching its 200MW milestone

23 Dec 2015

Wragge Lawrence Graham & Co's (WLG) Energy team, led by partner Gareth Baker and senior associate Meera Unadkat, has advised longstanding client Primrose Solar on the acquisition of a 4.21 MW solar farm at Fanny House Farm, Heaton with Oxcliffe.

The acquisition brings Primrose's solar energy contribution up to 202MW of installed capacity, either operational or under construction.

It was finalised in December 2015, with Primrose acquiring the site from Novus Solar Developments Limited. Construction has already begun, with commissioning expected before the end of the year.

Partner Gareth Baker said: "Primrose is a longstanding client of the firm and this acquisition brings the total number of solar farms in their portfolio to 14. Not only have we advised on all 14 of those deals, but to have watched Primrose build a business of this scale has been fantastic, and proves that renewables can be both a successful business model and profitable."

A team of specialists from across the WLG Energy team worked on the transaction, including partners Helen Emmerson, Paul Green and Zoe Fatchen, director Graham Wrigglesworth, principal associate James Bruce and associates Stephen Bowman, Elizabeth Napier and Khurram Kayani.

Novus Solar Developments was advised by TLT.
