Wragge Lawrence Graham & Co's Investment Funds team acts for Jefferies International Limited on £200 million fund raising

31 Mar 2015

Wragge Lawrence Graham & Co's Investment Funds team has advised Jefferies International Limited (Jefferies) on a £200 million fund raising by VPC Specialty Lending Investments PLC (VPC Specialty Lending).

The fundraising for VPC Speciality Lending was made in conjunction with its shares being admitted to the premium listing segment of the Official List and to trading on the London Stock Exchange's main market for listed securities.

Partner Nick Heather led the team advising Jefferies - sole broker, sponsor and bookrunner to the issue by VPC Specialty Lending. Nick was assisted by corporate associate Emily Troubridge.

Nick said: "I am very pleased to have advised Jefferies on one of the largest recent IPOs in the listed funds market. The success of the issue reflects the strong demand for alternative asset classes that can demonstrate a good yield and total return."

VPC Specialty Lending is a new investment trust that will invest in opportunities within the specialty lending market primarily through online lending platforms. The assets of VPC Specialty Lending will be managed by Victory Park Capital Advisors, with LLC as investment manager.

VPC Specialty Lending was advised by Stephenson Harwood LLP.

Wragge Lawrence Graham & Co's Investment Funds team is a leading practice with a particularly strong reputation for closed ended listed funds, advising insurers, investment management houses and the investment banks and brokers that advise them.

Other highlights for the team include advising Empiric Student Property Plc (Empiric) on an £85 million fund raising, advising Gabelli Value Plus on a fund raising worth £100 million and acting on a duo of real estate funds transactions worth £110 million.
