PARTNER MOVES - Top Corporate Lawyer Li Han to Join O’Melveny’s China Practice

14 Mar 2018

O’Melveny is delighted to announce that Li Han will join the firm as a corporate partner in its Hong Kong office.

Previously the general counsel of global investment powerhouse Shanda Group, Han is a seasoned business advisor and hands-on deal lawyer with experience leading billion-dollar M&A and capital-raising transactions, venture and private equity investments, and fund investments, as well as supervising public company disclosure, governance, and corporate compliance programs across multiple jurisdictions.

Han enjoys a strong reputation within the business and legal communities in mainland China and Hong Kong, said Bradley J. Butwin, Chair of O’Melveny.

“Li has run some of the highest-profile deals in Asia,” Butwin noted. “She is well known and well connected in the entrepreneur, investment, and finance communities, and she will enhance our delivery of business-oriented counseling to our clients.”

A native of China, Han received her B.A. from Fudan University with honors; an M.A. from Peking University; and her J.D. from Columbia University where she was a James Kent Scholar and Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. Before joining Shanda, Han worked at Sullivan & Cromwell in New York and later at Davis Polk in Hong Kong.

“I’m incredibly excited to join O’Melveny,” Han said. “The firm’s ability to combine a top reputation in China with a strong global platform—along with its prioritization of client service—made it a natural choice for my return to private practice.”
