Based in Calgary, Bennett acts as a trusted business advisor for clients in a wide variety of sectors, including oil and gas, mining, chemical, life sciences, healthcare, e-commerce, technology and real estate. He is highly regarded for his pragmatic and proactive approach to bring value and results for his clients.

Bennett has substantial experience in both domestic and international corporate transactions, particularly in the Asia Pacific region. He has extensive experience in public and private mergers and acquisitions (including plans of arrangement, takeover bids and reverse takeovers), securities offerings (public offerings and private placements of equity, debt, hybrid and royalty securities), domestic and foreign stock exchange listings and filings, initial public offerings, going-private transactions, cross-border acquisitions and restructurings, real estate financings, proxy fights, special committees, corporate governance, continuous disclosure and regulatory compliance matters.

Bennett earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1996, a JD from Western New England University School of Law in 1999, and an LLM from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2008. He was called to the bars in Alberta (2004), District of Columbia (2003), New York (2003) and British Columbia (2002).
