Dentons is pleased to announce that Jana Mansour has joined the Firm as a partner in our Construction, Infrastructure and PPP, and Project Finance groups.
Jana brings nearly 20 years of law firm experience from New York City, working on construction, infrastructure and energy projects for local and global clients. He has represented investors, developers and contractors from early-stage consideration through financing, operation and disposition of large-scale infrastructure projects. Jana has acted as lead counsel to owners and contractors for technologically complex projects, from power plants to manufacturing facilities. He is experienced in the negotiation of sophisticated project agreements, including multi-phased engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contracts, operation and maintenance agreements, and long-term service agreements.

Jana has dealt with a variety of assets, including wind and solar farms in Canada, the US and Mexico; gas-fired power plants and pipelines in the US and Mexico; a biofuel power plant in Hawaii; a solar silicon manufacturing facility in Iceland; a large silver and zinc mine in Bolivia; a high-speed rail concession in Brazil; rolling stock for New York City’s subway and Rome’s Metro; LNG port terminals in Texas, Mexico and Papua New Guinea; and nuclear power plants in Texas and Finland.
Jana also has broad experience in the financing of projects and project M&A transactions, and uses that experience to help owners structure projects with a view to facilitating equity and debt financing transactions.
Jana is originally from Montréal, where he began his legal career, and is fully bilingual (French and English). From 2010–2016, he was a partner in the Project Finance and Development group of a major international law firm, based in New York. A number of leading legal directories have repeatedly recognized Jana as a leader in various fields of law, including energy, finance, and negotiation.
Jana earned an LLB from the Université de Montréal in 1995, and an LLM from Columbia University School of Law in 1999. He was called to the Québec Bar in 1996, the New York Bar in 2000, and the Law Society of England and Wales in 2004, and is pending receipt of his bar call to the British Columbia Bar.
