NEW YORK – International law firm McDermott Will & Emery today announced the arrival of Rami Turayhi as a partner in the Firm’s Corporate & Transactional Practice Group in the New York office. Mr. Turayhi will focus on fund formation with an emphasis on the formation of private equity funds.
Mr. Turayhi comes from an AmLaw 100 firm where he regularly advised private fund clients in the structuring, establishment and operation of their funds and the acquisition and divestiture of portfolio companies. He also has experience counseling funds and their advisers on the legal and regulatory compliance aspects of fund formation and investment portfolio structuring.
“Rami brings significant experience counseling large, middle market and emerging investment managers across the private equity sector, which will serve to strengthen and expand our capabilities,” said Ian Schwartz, head of the Firm’s Investment Funds Practice. “Our clients will benefit tremendously from Rami’s understanding of regulatory issues as well as his deep market knowledge.”
Mr. Turayhi represents private equity clients pursuing a broad range of strategies, including credit, buyout, real estate, energy and health care. He will work closely with the Firm’s growing corporate practice in New York and complement Mr. Schwartz’s focus on fund formation.
“I was attracted to the depth and breadth of McDermott’s investment funds and private client service offerings,” noted Mr. Turayhi. “I am looking forward to furthering the firm’s high-caliber work in this sector and enhancing the exceptional client support to which McDermott is committed.”
