PARTNER MOVES - Employment Team Joins Squire Patton Boggs in Paris

26 Nov 2018

Squire Patton Boggs has announced that it has recruited an employment law team in Paris, comprising Jean-François Rage (partner), Coline Bied-Charreton (of counsel) and Jean-Sébastien Lipski (senior associate). The move further enhances the firm’s already significant employment offering in France.

Mr. Rage and his team advise French and international clients on various industry sectors, including hospitality and leisure, retail, infrastructure/construction/energy, life sciences, technology and communication, financial services and consultancy services. They assist clients on all aspects of contentious and non-contentious employment law, including the employment aspects of corporate transactions, restructuring and outsourcing, pensions and benefits, international mobility, executive compensation and employee share ownership. They also have a strong litigation practice and bring extensive court and tribunal experience.

“We are delighted to welcome Jean-François, Coline and Jean-Sébastien to the firm,” said Jean-Marc Sainsard, head of the firm’s Labor & Employment Practice in Paris. “We are experiencing increasing demand for our employment law advice and the arrival of our new lawyers will add strength in depth to our team while building on the momentum of recent hires, such as Jérémie Gicquel, who joined us from Paul Hastings last year.”

Co-head of the firm’s Labor & Employment Practice, Caroline Noblet, added: “Economic and political reform, particularly the Macron labor law reforms, present real opportunities as international and local businesses seek to reorganize and, in some cases, re-enter the French market. Jean-François, Coline and Jean-Sébastien are first-rate lawyers with experience complementary to that of our existing team. They will significantly expand the resource available to clients across all areas of employment law, underlining our deep commitment to expanding our team across Europe.”

The firm’s Paris Labor & Employment team is particularly well known for its ability to handle advisory and contentious matters, as well as its track record in advising on cross-border transactions. The arrival of Jean-François, Coline and Jean-Sébastien takes the number of lawyers in the team to 13, making it one of the largest French employment teams of any global law firm.

The appointment of the employment team follows the arrival of two Real Estate partners from Gowling WLG in Paris.  Alexandra Plain, the former Paris head of Real Estate, and Jérémy Roigt joined the firm as partners in its Paris office earlier this month.

The Paris office of Squire Patton Boggs was established in 1995 and represents international and domestic clients in corporate/M&A, litigation, arbitration and alternative dispute resolution, competition, employment law, real estate, tax, and commercial and regulatory matters.
