PARTNER MOVES - Eversheds Sutherland boosts corporate education practice with new Partner

09 Jan 2019

Eversheds Sutherland has boosted its corporate education practice with the appointment of Partner Jon Baskerville.

Jon, who joins Eversheds Sutherland in May 2019, is currently General Counsel (GC) at INTO University Partnerships. He has significant experience of the challenges facing both the higher education sector and private providers operating in higher education.

These challenges include cross-border transactions, transnational education projects, private equity finance in higher education, and the funding of real estate infrastructure projects for universities.

Having acted for INTO University Partnerships since its establishment in 2005, Jon became the company’s GC in 2007, and worked on the structuring and implementation of joint ventures with its rapidly growing network of university partners in the UK, the USA and Asia.

Jon Baskerville commented:

“I am very excited to join the Eversheds Sutherland team. The firm is already rightly recognised as a leader in the corporate education space and is uniquely placed to offer a truly global service to an increasingly international education sector.”

Glynne Stanfield, Head of Eversheds Sutherland’s Corporate and International Education practice commented:

“With nearly a decade of experience in cross-border transactions and transnational education projects, Jon is a great addition to the corporate education practice as we look to capitalise on Eversheds Sutherland’s global reach.”

Diane Gilhooley, Global Head of Eversheds Sutherland’s Employment and Pensions Practice and Head of the Education Sector commented:

“I am delighted to welcome Jon to the firm - his skills and experience in the sector both here in the UK and across our office network will be a great asset.”
