Montréal—Dentons is pleased to announce that Manon Jubinville has joined the Firm as a partner in our Tax group.
Based in Montréal, Manon’s focus will primarily be to grow and lead the national team specialized in indirect taxes. She works with both public and private companies in the financial, retail, manufacturing, distribution, transportation and service sectors. She has extensive experience in the financial industry.
“We are delighted to welcome Manon to the Firm,” said Claude Morency, Managing Partner of Dentons’ Montréal office. “She brings with her a wealth of diverse experience, including her recent mandate with the Finance Québec Ministry regarding the harmonization of the Québec Sales Tax (QST) with the Goods and Services Tax (GST) and the Harmonized Sales Tax (HST). Having drafted tax laws during her tenure at the Legislation department of Revenu Québec, Manon has unique insights into tax-related issues, which contributes to the many benefits she will bring to Dentons and our clients.”
Prior to joining Dentons, Manon has gained considerable experience leading a group of financial institutions in Québec in implementing the QST harmonization rules. She was also a member of the Québec government team that presented the constitutionality question of the QST to the Supreme Court of Canada in 1993.
Manon earned her Bachelor of Laws, as well as a master’s degree in taxation from Université de Sherbrooke, and was called to the Québec Bar in 1987.
