PARTNER MOVES - MCDERMOTT CONTINUES GLOBAL EXPANSION OF LITIGATION PRACTICE TO SERVE FINANCIAL SERVICES CLIENTS

McDermott Will & Emery is pleased to announce the arrival of David Momborquette as partner in the Litigation Practice Group in the Firm’s New York office. The fifth litigation hire this year, David continues the McDermott’s strategic expansion to advise financial services clients. His experience strengthens its growing hedge fund and private equity capabilities.

David has litigated cases in the federal and state courts throughout the US and has substantial experience in both private securities litigation and securities regulatory matters. He has also managed investigations by the Securities and Exchange Commission, the New York Stock Exchange, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority as well as US Attorneys’ offices and state attorneys general offices.

With the addition of David, as well as recent litigation hires in the US and UK, we continue to bolster our capabilities,” said David Rosenbloom, global leader of McDermott’s Litigation Practice Group. “The collective experience and particular knowledge of this growing team will help hedge funds, private equity firms and other clients in the highly regulated financial services industry protect themselves from risk.”

David focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation and regulatory matters. He counsels hedge funds, funds of funds and private equity funds on questions relating to insider trading and market manipulation, SEC examinations and other securities law issues such as investor disputes and class action litigation.

“McDermott has consistently demonstrated its dedication to reaching and serving clients around the world,” said David. “Whether in New York or across Europe, the lawyers here are willing to roll up their sleeves and bring both personal passion and legal prowess to bear for their clients’ businesses. David received his BA and JD from Boston University, where he was note editor of the Law Review, a G. Joseph Tauro Scholar, and an Edward F. Hennessey Scholar.

David joins recent hire Greg Ballard in New York in the Accountant Defense practice. McDermott has also added three other litigators this year: Andrew Savage in London, Ben Curtis in Miami, and Ashley Altschuler in Wilmington, Delaware, the Firm’s newest office.
