DLA Piper announced that George G. Demos has joined the firm's Litigation practice as a partner in Northern California based in the Sacramento office.
Demos joins from AKT Investments, Northern California's largest land development company, where he was a principal and assisted in overseeing legal affairs and the management of the company. He previously served as senior counsel in the Enforcement Division of the US Securities and Exchange Commission's New York Regional Office, where he led many high-profile and complex corporate fraud investigations. During his tenure at the SEC, he was also detailed to the United States Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York.

Demos is an adjunct law professor at the University of California at Davis Law School, where he teaches courses in Corporate & White Collar Crime, Securities Enforcement, and the Constitutional Law of Presidential Power. He received his J.D. from Fordham Law School and his B.A. from Columbia University. He is admitted to practice law in New York and California.
