DLA Piper announces the appointment of eight new lawyers in its Warsaw office into three key practice areas of Corporate, Finance & Projects (F&P) and Litigation & Regulatory. These hires follow the recent appointment of corporate partners Marek Sawicki and Jakub Marcinkowski from CMS.
Counsel Rafał Kluziak, senior associates Izabela Gębal and Michał Gintowt and associates Karolina Stepaniuk and Jakub Szczygieł have joined the firm's Corporate practice from CMS. They have significant experience in public and private M&A, private equity, capital markets and financial instruments.
Counsel Adriana Mierzwa-Bronikowska and senior associate Agnieszka Chylińska have joined the firm's F&P practice from Hogan Lovells. Adriana was co-head of the PPP infrastructure group at Hogan Lovells Warsaw, she has been active in the Public Sector and Public Private Partnership (PPP) / Infrastructure sector in Poland since 2006 taking part in the legislative process as well as advising public entities and private partners in connection with infrastructure projects. Agnieszka has many years’ experience in complex infrastructure projects, including PPP projects. Her experience encompasses providing legal advice for both public and private partners in following sectors: E-payments, ITS, Real Estate, communal infrastructure and transportation.
DLA Piper has also hired energy lawyer Łukasz Jankowski as counsel in its Litigation & Regulatory practice. Łukasz joins the firm from Eversheds Sutherland, where he was a partner and head of their energy team. His practice focuses on energy law, with a particular emphasis on the electricity and natural gas markets. He has many years of experience providing legal advice for the energy sector, and has implemented a number of projects for trading companies and distribution system operators, including infrastructure proceedings and regulatory proceedings before the Court of Competition and Consumer Protection. Łukasz supports clients in regulatory matters, including concessions, tariffs, and cases regarding fines imposed by the president of the Energy Regulatory Office.
