Dentons is pleased to announce that Panagiota Dafniotis has joined the Firm as National Lead of the Intellectual Property (IP) team and partner in our Corporate group.
Based in Montréal, Panagiota will provide clients with legal and business advice on the development and implementation of integrated IP strategies covering all aspects of the IP lifecycle for the protection of innovation in line with clients’ commercial objectives.

Panagiota is an IP lawyer, advisor and strategist with a practical mindset and deep experience helping clients identify, protect, mitigate, and manage key IP risks and opportunities across their businesses globally in a holistic and strategic manner.
Panagiota is the recipient of numerous awards including the Lexpert Zenith Award, the Corporate IP Stars Award, the Canadian Innovation Award - In-house Dealmakers team, and the Intellectual Property Award for Innovation in Financial Services.
Prior to joining Dentons, Panagiota was Assistant General Counsel and Head of Intellectual Property, Sponsorship & Marketing at a major global financial institution in Canada.
She received her Bachelor of Laws from the University of Sherbrooke, and was called to the Québec Bar in 1995. She is also a registered Trademark Agent. Panagiota is a frequent industry speaker on a variety of topics including converting innovation into powerful IP and identifying, protecting and monetizing corporate IP assets in the digital economy.
