International law firm Squire Patton Boggs continues to grow in key practice areas with the appointment of Ashley Rose, who joins the firm’s global Corporate practice as a partner in the Sydney office. His former law firm experience includes Allen & Overy, Herbert Smith Freehills and Gilbert + Tobin.
Mr. Rose is an experienced corporate lawyer specialising in public and private M&A and equity capital markets. He has been involved in a number of high-profile takeovers (hostile, unsolicited and friendly), takeover defences and schemes of arrangement. He also has deep expertise in IPOs, capital raisings and placements on the ASX.
Campbell Davidson, Australian managing partner, said: “Sydney is the business capital of Australia and so additional expertise and capability is essential in order to meet our clients’ growing needs, particularly in the public company space. This approach echoes our global strategy to invest in key financial centres.”
He added: “Ashley’s experience as in-house counsel at JP Morgan, British Telecom and Colgate Palmolive makes him a good fit with our practical, commercial and client-focused ethos.”
Mr. Rose said: “I am looking forward to joining the Squire Patton Boggs team and working alongside my new colleagues both here in Australia and around the world. The collaborative manner in which the firm operates and its global practice breadth were appealing and offer a great experience to my clients who are increasingly looking beyond Australia to expand their operations.”
