20 Jan 2020

International law firm McDermott Will & Emery is pleased to announce that Nathan Brown has joined the Firm as a partner in its Private Client practice group, initially splitting time between the Chicago and Miami offices. Nate counsels high-net worth individuals and families on domestic and international tax and estate planning matters to maximize and protect wealth.

“Our clients will benefit from Nate’s impressive knowledge of trust and estate administration and tax law, as well as his experienced counsel on critical decisions that affect their important personal and tax issues. While Nate will be based in Chicago, he will continue to work with his many Miami- and Florida-based clients,” said William J. Butler, global head of McDermott’s Private Client practice.

Nate is experienced in a wide range of advanced estate planning techniques, all aspects of estate and trust administration and preparing complex Federal Tax Returns.

“McDermott is the premier private client practice. I am looking forward to continuing to provide client-focused counsel as part of this dynamic, growing and well-respected group,” added Nate.

Nate holds a LL. M. in Taxation from University of Florida Levin College. He earned a Juris Doctor from University of Maine School of Law (summa cum laude) and received a Bachelor of Arts from University of Southern Maine (cum laude). He is admitted to practice in District of Columbia and Florida.

Prior to joining McDermott, Nate was senior counsel in the private client services department at Proskauer Rose LLP in Boca Raton, FL.

McDermott’s Private Client Practice represents high-net-worth individuals, families and closely held businesses with an extraordinary focus on the client’s specific, unique objectives. The team, more than 110 strong, is continually recognized as the top private client practice in the US and among the top practices worldwide.
