20 Feb 2020

Dentons is pleased to welcome Ben Nuttall and Glen Peterson as the newest additions to the Firm’s Banking and Finance group.

Based in Calgary, Ben and Glen bring significant experience working with banks, other lenders and borrowers in the financial sector.

“We are pleased to welcome Ben and Glen to the Firm, along with their talented legal support team,” said Tim Haney, Managing Partner of Dentons’ Calgary office. “Their more than 35 years of combined experience in the area of banking and finance across many key sectors will be of great benefit to our existing and future clients. Glen and Ben will be a tremendous addition to our existing Banking and Finance Group, which is an important area of focus for Dentons generally, and for the Calgary office in particular.”

Gaining extensive experience in a wide variety of financing transactions throughout his career, Ben has distinguished himself as a leader in various key sectors, including diversified, commercial real estate, energy, automotive and industrial. He has represented a diverse range of financial institutions, as well as corporate borrowers and lenders, on domestic and cross-border transactions, and real estate, project and asset-based financings. Prior to practising law in Canada, Ben was a barrister in the UK, where he was a member of the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple.

Called to the Alberta Bar in 2002, Glen has been a major force in providing strategic advantages to the commercial and large-scale residential real estate developments, construction, agriculture, aviation and automotive sectors. His diverse practice has allowed him to develop a deep and sound understanding of banking and financial services, corporate and commercial transactions and commercial real estate.

“We are seeing tremendous growth in our Calgary office,” said Tim. “The arrival of these two leading lawyers further reinforces our commitment to being the leading global law firm in Canada.”
