Reed Smith announced the addition of Nigel Stark as a partner in the Global Corporate Group in Dallas. A recognized technology lawyer who advises on tech transactions and outsourcing, Stark is the sixth partner to join the firm in Dallas since the office opened in May 2019 with 16 lawyers.
The arrival of Stark, a former partner at K&L Gates in Dallas, brings the total number of Reed Smith lawyers in Dallas to 32.

Stark’s practice focuses on helping companies institute new technologies that bring greater efficiency to their core business and better manage their operating costs. Part of that solution includes outsourcing some components of their business. He represents and negotiates on behalf of both customers and vendors in an array of commercial and non-commercial technology-related transactions. In addition, he also advises clients in joint-venture and co-development arrangements and works with clients in the creation of enterprise-wide policies and strategies regarding emerging technologies.

Stark works closely on a day-to-day basis representing companies in their commercial sourcing, including counseling them in managing the life cycle of their contracts to ensure they can quickly and efficiently in-source or out-source the services, products, supplies, resources, and technology they need to more efficiently and profitably run their business or to sell their products and services to their existing customers.
Before joining K&L Gates in 2013, Stark was an associate at Faegre Baker Daniels from 2007 to 2013. He earned his J.D. with honors in 2007 from The University of Texas School of Law. In 2019, Chambers USA named him a Leading Texas Technology Outsourcing Lawyer, and each year since 2017, he has been named a Next Generation Lawyer by Legal 500.

Stark is the second corporate attorney to join Reed Smith’s Dallas office in the past four months. Chauncey M. Lane came aboard in mid-November from the Dallas office of Husch Blackwell. Other recent lateral partners in Dallas include Elizabeth Brandon in the Global Commercial Disputes Group; Paulo McKeeby and Michael Correll in the Labor & Employment Practice; and Jorge Gutierrez in the Energy & Natural Resources Group.
