20 Mar 2020

DLA Piper announced that Ronald N. Brown, III has joined the firm’s Litigation practice as a partner in the Wilmington office.

Brown represents corporations, directors and officers in litigation involving corporate governance matters and federal securities laws. He has represented clients in hostile takeovers, proxy contests, mergers, tender offers, securities fraud suits, derivative suits, appraisal actions, and other corporate and commercial disputes. His practice also includes advice on the Delaware law of corporations, limited partnerships and limited liability companies in connection with mergers and other transactions.

“Ron brings a broad range of experience that will considerably enhance our trial bench in Wilmington and across our global platform,” said James Brogan, co-chair of DLA Piper’s US Litigation practice. “With his extensive background in merger-related litigation, he will also be a valuable resource for the firm’s transactional practice.”

“Ron’s strong work ethic and his track record of success as a litigator will be an asset to clients facing complex disputes, along with his ability to provide strategic counsel on Delaware corporate law in connection with M&A and other transactions,” said Matthew Denn, managing partner of the firm’s Wilmington office.

Brown is the latest partner to join DLA Piper’s growing Litigation practice, which has also welcomed partners Keelin Kavanagh, Arthur Hoffmann and David Jaroslaw in New York; Craig Waugh in Phoenix; Matthew Miller and Robert Nolan in San Francisco; Michael Hazzard in Washington, DC; and Christopher Mikson in Philadelphia this year.

Brown, who joins from Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, received his J.D. from Villanova University School of Law and his B.A. from Washington & Lee University. He also serves as an adjunct faculty lecturer at the Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law, where he teaches Mergers and Acquisitions.
