PARTNER MOVES - Reed Smith welcomes antitrust and competition partner to its Global Corporate Group in London

Global law firm Reed Smith has announced the hire of corporate partner and competition law specialist Ross Mackenzie to its London office. This latest hire marks the ninth partner to join the firm’s Global Corporate Group across EME in 2020.

Mackenzie, who joins from Ashurst LLP where he began his career in 2000, has extensive experience of advising clients in all aspects of UK and EU competition law. He has worked on complex merger cases, antitrust and market investigations, advising clients before UK regulators and the European Commission, as well as the UK and European courts.

Working across a variety of sectors including entertainment and media, finance, transportation, life sciences and healthcare, consumer goods and TMT, Mackenzie brings a depth of expertise to the firm.

Reed Smith’s Global Corporate Group covers all aspects of corporate and commercial law and spans the firm’s 30 offices. The EME corporate practice has undergone significant growth over the past few years. So far in 2020, the firm has opened a new European office with five competition, regulatory and trade partners consisting of Christian Filippitsch from Norton Rose Fulbright, Isabelle Rahman from Sheppard Mullin, Geert Goeteyn from Shearman & Sterling, Yves Melin from Steptoe & Johnson and Wim Vandenberghe from Deloitte Legal. They were also joined by one counsel and two associates. In addition, the group welcomed corporate partners Sam Webster in London, Adela Mues in Dubai and Caroline Ledoux in Paris.
