PARTNER MOVES - Bart-Adriaan de Ruijter joins CMS as a partner

11 Nov 2020

CMS is delighted to welcome Bart-Adriaan de Ruijter, a specialist in (international) corporate litigation and arbitration, as a new partner. Bart-Adriaan joins from Kennedy Van der Laan.

Bart-Adriaan joins the continuously expanding CMS Dispute Resolution Group, which now has over 1200 dispute resolution lawyers across 43 countries in the world. The Netherlands is an important forum for dispute resolution, with one of the most liberal class action climates in Europe, an efficient and cost-effective Commercial Court for international disputes, unique possibilities for conservatory arrests (in order to safeguard recovery) and international enforcement of its judgments.

International law firm CMS is pleased to announce the forthcoming appointment of Bart-Adriaan de Ruijter as Partner Corporate Litigation.

Bart-Adriaan specializes in complex international and national corporate and commercial litigation and advice in crisis situations. He regularly represents clients in high-profile media sensitive proceedings. His expertise entails international shareholder disputes and collective actions (plaintiff and defense), (director’s) liability cases, contractual (post M&A) disputes, international (prejudgment) attachment and execution disputes and international conflicts in relation to restructuring.

Bart-Adriaan has been praised for his expertise in 'contentious matters and Brexit related issues' in Legal 500 (Tier 1, Retail, 2020). His appointment will powerfully reinforce the firm’s already strong practice in international litigation and arbitration for its international clients.
