08 Feb 2021

Dentons has enhanced its Corporate group with the addition of partner David Hunter in Vancouver. Joining the Firm from Norton Rose Fulbright, David’s practice focuses on securities, corporate and natural resources law.

David has over 25 years’ experience acting for a broad range of public and private companies in various sectors, including mining, oil and gas, forestry, telecommunications, manufacturing and chemical processing, as well as institutional venture capital investors and local governments. He advises on public and private equity and debt financings, takeover bids, acquisitions, arrangements and mergers, with a particular focus on mineral resource companies. He also advises public company clients on a variety of corporate and securities law issues including regulatory compliance, disclosure and corporate governance.

John Sandrelli, Managing Partner of Dentons’ Vancouver office, said, “I am thrilled that David has chosen to join our team in Vancouver. With his arrival, following closely to that of partner Alim Khamis and senior lawyers Julie Facchin and Samantha Chang, we continue to attract top talent and grow our offering in the Vancouver market in response to our clients’ needs. David’s deep knowledge and established leadership will be a great asset to our team as we continue to leverage our strong reputation as a trusted advisor throughout BC and Canada.”

According to Robin Longe, partner and co-head of Dentons’ Canada Mining group: “David’s extensive experience, particularly in the areas of corporate finance and mining law, will be a huge asset to our clients that are involved in mineral exploration and development. David’s solid expertise builds on the existing strengths of Dentons’ Vancouver and national teams, and will help our mining industry clients achieve their goals whether financing, reorganizing, selling or investing.”

As a reflection of his reputation as a leading lawyer in Canada, David has also been recognized in legal rankings such as The Best Lawyers in Canada and IFLR1000.
